PHB stands for Personal Health Budget. The funds are provided by the NHS to ensure every patient has complete control of how their support is delivered.
These budgets are available for patients with long-term health conditions or any other form of disability that requires ongoing care.
PHBs let you call the shots. To ensure your budget is used in a way that meets your needs, we team up with PHB holders, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), and User-Led Organisations.
By offering training for Personal Assistants (PAs) and family members, we make it possible for the relevant people to be in control of ensuring great care is given where it’s needed.
Why is this important? Simply put, no one knows your needs better than you do.

Our courses ensure PAs have the skills needed to align with personal care plans.
At ABUKA, we offer a variety of training courses that can be covered by the patient’s PHB. From social care training to safe moving and handling principles, we give PAs the knowledge to deliver truly personalised care.
We provide bespoke courses that can be perfectly matched to any care plan.
Available in our Stockport training facility, a location of your choosing or even online, we can accommodate any requests.
Furthermore, our experienced nursing team can conduct clinical competency assessments and sign-offs for your PA in your own home, making sure your team is fully qualified to take on healthcare tasks safely and confidently.

We offer trusted courses to provide the skills needed for managing a wide range of medical conditions. This includes support for Tracheostomy management, Oral Suctioning, Ventilation, Motor Neurone Disease, Dementia care and more.
Essential skills required by anyone providing health and social care to ensure high standards are being consistently met. Examples of topics include health and safety training and safeguarding in line with the latest legislations.
PHBs should also be used to ensure patients can make their way to and from required locations. For many, this means support is needed. Whether that comes in the form of safe lifting or manual handling safety, we offer a choice of courses which offer training in line with the latest published moving and handling legislation.
