Introduction

This 12-week Prepare to Manage training programme is aimed to equip staff within your care practice with management skills.

Course Contents

The programme is delivered face to face over 12 consecutive weeks, with one face to face training day per week. During this time, those enrolled on the programme will complete the following:

  • Essential Management Skills

  • Level 3 Safeguarding Adults & Children

  • Safer Recruiting (inc. document verification, referencing and interview skills)

  • Human Resources Essentials inc. staff records, absences,
    supervisions, appraisals, disciplinaries and grievances.

  • Information Governance and Professional Boundaries.

  • Staffing and Resource Utilisation inc. skills mix,
    training, staff resilience, open cultures, contingency planning.

  • Advanced Infection Prevention.

  • Medication Management inc. ordering, checking, auditing,
    medical devices (will need auditing and devices adding)

  • MCA inc. DoLS, best interest, advance decisions, LPAs.

  • Dealing With A Death and End Of Life Planning

  • CQC Essentials inc. understanding inspection and
    regulation, KLOEs, notifications, guidance, 2023 changes.

  • Checks and Balances inc. champions, checklists, monitoring and audits.

  • Portfolio Submission and Final Exam

Final Exam

All delegates are encouraged to attend all 12 sessions, in order that they do not fall behind with their learning, although it is understood that holidays and sickness etc. may prevent this. We have made provision for “catch up” sessions and/or self study. We ask that delegates let the trainer know as soon as possible if they cannot attend any sessions. 

Course Outcomes

Successful completion of this training course will result in the award of a CPD certificate covering all aspects of the above course contents.
