Introduction
This half day course is ideal for those working in a HCA capacity in a general hospital or for any care staff who’s role involves formal patient observations. For in-house courses, your organisation’s specific protocols and record formats can be included, to tailor the training for your own needs.

- Observations using your senses – sight, hearing, smell and touch
- Basic Infection Control Precautions
- Communication
- Temperature
- Blood Pressure
- Pulse
- Respiration
- Oxygen Saturation
- Tissue Viability
- Blood Glucose Monitoring and Fluid Balance
- Record Keeping
The training includes theory, practical, audio and video content and participants practice their skills with a range of common equipment (provided by the trainer) found in the care setting.
Course Outcomes
Successful completion of this training course will result in the award of a CPD accredited certificate covering all aspects of the above course contents.
