Autism Awareness & Support
This half day course helps staff to identify Autistic Spectrum Disorders, how they are diagnosed and how people with the condition can be supported effectively. A range of practical tips and techniques are explored and discussed as part of the learning.
- What is an Autistic Spectrum Disorder?
- Possible causes of autism, including health, psychological, genetic and environmental factors
- Possible Autistic behaviours, including challenging behaviour and social interaction impairments
- How Autism is diagnosed
- Autism Management
- Helping people with Autism, including practical tools and tips (including PECS trainer-led activity)
Your staff will be equipped with all the relevant knowledge and an understanding of the various Autism instances you may face within a care setting, and how to approach each.
Successful completion of this training course will result in the award of a CPD accredited certificate covering all aspects of the above course contents.
