Legionnaires disease affects between 200-300 people in the UK each year, particularly people who are classed as ‘vulnerable’ to disease. While natural water sources can be a source of Legionella bacteria, the problem can be exacerbated in organisations with complex water systems, ‘dead legs’, or where water is stored in tanks.
This half day course unshrouds some of the ‘mysteries’ of Legionella and the simple, non-expensive management strategies that organisations can put into place to manage the risk in a sensible and proportionate way. This course also ends with a practical tour of the premises, allowing learners to identify key areas and simple prevention methods.
